Description

CarPro IronX is an advanced pH-balanced iron fallout remover that is safe for use on wheels, paintwork, plastic, chrome and glass. IronX features a colour change formula, so when reacting with iron contamination it bleeds purple. Once IronX has got to work, it turns iron contamination water soluble allowing for it to be rinsed away.

Our Take On CarPro IronX

CarPro IronX was one of the first, if not the first colour-changing, iron removers in the detailing industry. It gained instant traction as one, it smells horrific, which doesn't let you put that off as they all do! It changes colour upon reaction to iron contamination, so not only did it look impressive, it is a fantastic visual indicator and made you realise it was worthwhile.

We love IronX as it's always performed well, remained at a good price, and is easy to use. IronX is versatile too as you can use it to decontaminate the paintwork or as a wheel cleaner.

How To Use CarPro IronX

Do not use in direct sunlight and ensure the surface is cool. Do not allow IronX to dry on the surface.

For Paintwork: ensure the vehicle is washed first. Shake the bottle well and spray on the panel, working one panel at a time. Allow several minutes for the product to work. As it starts working if contamination is present it will bleed purple. For maximum cleaning, you can use a damp towel to agitate the product. Finally, rinse thoroughly.

For Wheels: There are two ways you can use IronX to clean wheels, one in our opinion is the more efficient and cost-effective way to do it, but there is no real right or wrong way of doing it.

Wheels 1: Rinse wheels down to remove loose brake dust, dirt and grime. Shake the bottle well and spray liberally on the wheel. IronX will react with the brake dust very quickly. Use a wheel brush to agitate if required. Allow several minutes before rinse down. Re-application may be needed if stubborn iron deposits remain underneath the layer of brake dust.

Wheels 2: Use a traditional wheel cleaner first, such as Valet Pro Bilberry. This will remove the brake dust, dirt, and grime first. Rinse it down and then apply IronX. IronX will be getting straight to the stubborn iron deposits. Allow it to change colour and use a wheel brush to agitate if necessary. Rinse thoroughly. Re-application should not be necessary with this method, it also shouldn't be necessary to do this process each wash, maybe on a monthly basis.

FAQs

CarPro IronX vs Trix: IronX is a dedicated iron fallout remover, and Trix is a tar & iron remover in one. From our experience, Trix is very good and it saves a little time, but IronX is better if you are just looking for an iron fallout remover with the most potency.

CarPro IronX vs IronX LS: Iron removers stink, quite bad, so as such LS features a lemon scent and is perhaps just a little more pleasing on the nose,  but that's it, nothing else.
